There used to be some logic in RegexLib which would disallow 2 patterns which were exactly the same. I actually removed that logic because I wanted to encourage people to use it to add all of their favourite patterns - as opposed to just the ones that they wrote. The idea is that you are supposed to use the "Source" field to attribute the real author of a pattern that you are uploading (if you didn't write it yourself).
