MD5 outputs hexadecimal(base16), not base36, so you'll be better off limiting your regex to fit:
^([a-f0-9]{32})$

/^[A-Fa-f0-9]{32}$/
Is even better, for both uppercase and lowercase chars.

Title: The hex char set would end at f, right?

	                Comment:
^([a-z0-9]{32})$ would work with md5, but
^([a-f0-9]{32})$ would be more correct I belive.
