This pattern highlights any characters in double or single quotes, single line only .For the reason that refreshing the whole document every keystroke would send the application to a crawl. Only Dreamweaver achieve parsing the whole document fast enough. Other application can only achieve refreshing a line dynamically.
note: open quotes are highlighted until the end, as they are with most syntax highlighting applications.
